Job summary
A leading construction company in Manchester is seeking ambitious graduates for its Graduate Programme. The programme offers a comprehensive 15-month development plan, including mentorship and industry-recognized qualifications. Responsibilities include assisting in project accounts and preparing reports. Ideal candidates should possess good communication skills, a strong willingness to learn, and be familiar with Microsoft Office.
Qualifications
- No more than 12 months' work experience.
- Positive can-do attitude and hard-working.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of project final accounts.
- Prepare internal or external reports.
- Manage cash including WIP control.
- Draft subcontracts and understand insurance claims.
- Identify commercial risks and opportunities.
- Support tender preparation processes.

- The STRABAG UK Graduate Programme is 15 months in duration and offers industry leading development. It is intense but hugely rewarding and on successful completion, you will receive accreditations and qualifications from industry recognised bodies such as:
- The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH)
- Association for Project Management (APM)
- Institute of Sustainability & Environmental Professionals (ISEP)
- British Tunnelling Society (BTS)
- The Institute of Leadership (IOL)
- You will also begin your journey with professional associations such as The Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), The Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (CICES) and The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
STRABAG’S Recruitment & Selection Process:Our graduate selection process shall comprise of the following stages:
- Application
- Online assessment
- Shortlisting
- Graduate Assessment Centre
Role Requirements:
- Assist in the preparation of project final accounts
- Assisting in the preparation of internal or external reports
- Cash management including WIP control and cash flow production
- Drafting of subcontracts including professional services
- Identification of insurance claims and understanding policy coverage
- Identifying commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering and change control measures
- Measurement of quantities in accordance with the standard methods of measurement as required
- Support with any tender preparation processes
- Supporting in the preparation of valuations/applications for payment
- Use the cost allocation/coding which satisfies both internal and external requirements
- Utilise cost controlling systems and methods
