We are a fast-growing global reinsurance speciality company servicing the insurance markets of Lloyd’s, Europe and North America.

Our Senior Claims Manager is looking for a new Claims Handler to manage an international assumed reinsurance portfolio with mainly property claims.

As part of our European claims department, this unique development opportunity would suit someone with basic insurance claims handling experience looking gain more technical knowledge and experience with third parties. You’ll be part of an amazing team at the heart of the business and will acquire a unique set of skills.


Responsibilities
• proactively handle allocated claims to a high standard
• negotiate with counterparties to achieve the best results for Compre managed portfolios.
• identify and report new trends or changes in the behaviour of a claims portfolio.
• Help with complaint cases within the regulatory guidelines.
• work with TPAs to provide assistance with referrals and cases over their authority limits.
• manage external service providers, ensuring they are acting in our best interests
• identify and deliver opportunities for claims savings, both on an individual claims and strategic basis.
• identify and execute commutation and buy back opportunities, including the negotiation of deals with counterparties.
• provide technical assistance for the due diligence process for new acquisitions, including the assessment of claims related risks and opportunities, reporting findings within the agreed format and required deadlines.
• gain a good understanding of new accounts upon acquisition, delivering against opportunities identified in due diligence.


Candidate requirements
• Right to work in this location
• Good level of claims handling technical experience and knowledge, providing consistently high-quality claims handling.
• Understanding of reinsurance claims, reinsurance processes and required interaction with external partners would be desirable
• Knowledge of key terms and conditions in contracts / policies and general knowledge of key legal positions in relevant jurisdictions.
• Good negotiation skills, with experience in negotiating issues with counterparties resulting in successful settlements.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to develop good working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Complaint resolution skills
• Good level of computer skills using MS Excel and Word as well as other systems
• Contributing positively to our culture and values.
