Lancashire Wildlife Trust’s Nature and Wellbeing Service runs wellbeing groups for adults, who are struggling with their mental health or loneliness, to help them access green spaces. It aims to improve participants wellbeing, whilst also giving them opportunity to transform their local green spaces for people and wildlife alike. Sessions actively implement the 5 Ways to Wellbeing; to meet new people, learn new things, be active, give back to nature and their community, and to take notice of their natural world.

By engaging with our Nature and Wellbeing service, attendee’s will have opportunities to increase their skills and confidence by playing an active part in nature’s recovery. Alongside this we will also support progression into further skills development, volunteering, or employment where appropriate.

Weekly sessions are led by an experienced member of the Nature and Wellbeing Team and delivered in Bolton at Moses Gate Country Park, which is Boltons largest nature reserve! It boasts a variety of habitats for wildlife, whilst also being a historically important site for Bolton’s industrial heritage! We are looking for a motivated Lead Volunteer to join our weekly session at Moses Gate Country Park on Thursday.

Sessions largely centre around the following activities, giving people lots of different opportunities to connect with and take action for nature:

  • Growing
  • Bushcraft
  • Practical conservation
  • Nature walks
  • Mindfulness & nature crafts

Our Nature and Wellbeing team work right in the heart of our communities and as such deliver a varied and highly rewarding programme of work that achieves important outcomes for both people and nature. We're looking for a highly motivated individual to assist our Project Officer in running our sessions at Rock Hall, Moses Gate Country Park.
