Bouygues Energies & Services (part of EQUANS) has a fantastic opportunity available for a Payroll Coordinator to join us based at the Hinkley Point C (HPC) site in Bridgwater. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives from working in a fast‑paced and busy environment.

Job Purpose

The Payroll Coordinator is accountable for managing payroll operations and for establishing, embedding, and governing robust payroll data collection and validation processes to support the accurate delivery of weekly blue collar and monthly white collar payrolls in a regulated nuclear environment. The role ensures payroll inputs are consistently captured, authorised, validated, and auditable in line with HPC payroll governance, ESCA / SSA agreements, approval matrix, and statutory requirements.

The Role
  • Act as the site payroll lead, providing operational leadership and first line oversight for all payroll activity at HPC.
  • Own site payroll processes, standards, and controls, ensuring consistent application across the workforce.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to site leadership on payroll governance, approvals, and risk and compliance.
  • Ensure payroll processing aligns with ESCA and SSA terms and conditions.
  • Lead the coordination of weekly blue collar workforce payroll, including variable pay and allowances, understanding the periodic timetable and pay review.
  • Lead the coordination of monthly white collar workforce payroll, including salaried pay and contractual changes, pay review.
  • Ensure all payroll inputs meet cut off deadlines, approval requirements, and data quality standards.
  • Maintain clear and complete audit trails for all payroll actions.
  • Design, implement, and maintain structured processes for collating payroll data where required.
  • Act as a point of escalation for complex payroll issues and governance matters.
  • Engage and build working relationships with internal Bouygues payroll and HRIS stakeholders.
  • Uphold confidentiality and data‑protection standards at all times.
