Job description

We’re a growing nonprofit looking for a volunteer to help share our story! You’ll find podcasts, awards, and other opportunities that fit our values and help raise the profile of our founders and CEOs. A great role for someone who loves research and making connections!

What difference will you make?

You will be supporting the The Workstyle Revolution by expanding our reach and creating a happier more fulfilled society through the world of work without bias.

In addition you’ll gain
  • Experience in research, communications and social impact.
  • Insight into how purpose-led organisations grow their reach and recognition.
  • The opportunity to make a tangible difference to a mission that promotes equity in work and society.
  • Personalised, remote volunteering that fits around your schedule.
What are we looking for?

We’re looking for someone curious, organised and passionate about personalising work and closing the employment gaps. You don’t need formal communications or PR experience, just a love of research and an eye for opportunities that fit our mission and values. You’ll enjoy discovering new podcasts, awards and platforms that help share inspiring stories. Strong written communication and attention to detail will help you summarise and recommend opportunities clearly. We value people who are proactive, thoughtful and open-minded. An interest in workplace culture, inclusion or social impact is a bonus. At Workstyle, we believe everyone should work, and volunteer, in a way that fits them. We’ll make sure this experience is personalised, purposeful and shaped around you.

What will you be doing?

Workstyle Revolution is a fast-growing UK not-for-profit on a mission to create a happier, more fulfilled society through a world of work without bias. Our work is rooted in inclusion, empathy and fairness, and we champion personalised, autonomous workstyle working so that everyone can thrive. As our influence grows, we are looking to raise awareness of our mission and increase the visibility of our Co-Founders and CEOs through thoughtful storytelling and meaningful recognition opportunities.

We are seeking an experienced volunteer to support us by researching podcast, award and media opportunities that align with our values and amplify our message. This role requires at least three years’ professional experience in research, communications, PR, marketing, media relations or a closely related field. We need someone who can bring a strategic lens to opportunity-scouting and help us share our impact with audiences who care about equity, purpose and positive change.

Why Your Skills Are Essential

This work requires more than general research skills. We need a volunteer who can use their professional experience to:

  • Apply structured research methods to identify credible, values-aligned platforms that can meaningfully elevate our leadership and mission.
  • Evaluate the relevance, inclusivity and strategic value of each opportunity using professional judgement.
  • Understand how reputational positioning, messaging and audience alignment contribute to strong thought leadership.
  • Craft or refine short bios, summaries or application language that reflect our voice and convey our impact clearly.
  • Spot high-quality opportunities that support our long-term strategy, rather than simply listing potential options.

Your expertise will directly support the visibility of a nationally recognised organisation working to close employment gaps and challenge outdated models of work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research and evaluate podcasts, awards and media opportunities, applying your professional background to judge credibility, relevance and audience fit.
  • Assess alignment with our mission and values, especially our commitment to personalised workstyles, inclusion and fairness.
  • Develop and maintain a clear opportunity tracker, recording key details, deadlines and criteria.
  • Summarise and prioritise opportunities, offering strategic recommendations to the team based on impact and alignment.
  • Draft or refine short text, such as bios, summaries or application answers, using your background in communications or media.
  • Share insights and trends, helping us understand where our story can have the greatest resonance.
Skills And Experience (essential)

We are seeking volunteers with a minimum of three years’ professional experience in at least one of the following areas:

  • Communications, PR or media relations
  • Research or insight roles
  • Marketing, especially audience or brand positioning
  • Journalism or content development
  • Strategic communications or public affairs
  • Awards, recognition or speaker-sourcing roles

Experience supporting mission-led organisations, social enterprises or not-for-profits is highly valued.

Deliverables
  • A regularly updated list of well-aligned podcast, award and media opportunities.
  • A brief monthly summary of new or high-potential options.
  • Clear recommendations grounded in your professional insight and our mission, values and voice.
