This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Social Work Assistant Team Manager to join our vibrant Children in Care Team. You’ll be working full time in the heart of Newcastle Upon Tyne, helping improve the lives of children and families in our community. Responsibilities
  • Assist the Team Manager in effectively running the service and deputise when needed.
  • Undertake complex casework and oversee specific projects to ensure families and individuals receive outstanding support.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive reports for meetings, conferences, and courts.
  • Work within the statutory framework and comply with Directorate policies, ensuring best practices are upheld.
  • Promote professional excellence by monitoring and evaluating interventions for improved outcomes.
  • Maintain high safeguarding standards for children and vulnerable adults by promptly reporting concerns.
  • Provide day-to-day professional advice and guidance to team members to ensure service consistency and excellence.
  • Contribute to formal supervision of team members and provide direct supervision of staff.
  • Mentor staff through development sessions to achieve post-qualifying awards.
  • Keep computer and written records updated to meet Directorate guidelines.
  • Chair and participate in meetings regarding service users, ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Build effective relationships with external partners and agencies to enhance service delivery.
  • Contribute to policy improvements and engage service users through working groups.
  • Promote and implement our Diversity, Equality, Equity, and Accessibility policy in all work aspects.
  • Ensure a healthy, safe, and secure environment by adhering to organisational policies.
