Job summary

A local council authority in South Somercotes is looking for an enthusiastic individual to lead the engagement for their upcoming food waste collection service. You will promote participation in this new initiative as well as the existing recycling services. Strong communication skills, confidence in speaking with various audiences, and flexibility in working hours are essential. No prior waste experience needed, as full training will be provided. Qualifications

• Confidence speaking with a wide range of people, both one-to-one and in group settings.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain information clearly and engagingly.
• Comfortable delivering presentations, workshops, or public engagement sessions.
• A flexible approach to working hours (including occasional evenings/weekends).
• A full driving licence and ability to travel across the district.

Responsibilities

• Engage with residents to build understanding and encourage participation in the new food waste collection service.
• Promote the council food waste collection service and wider waste services.
• Update council web pages and deliver presentations.
