A local council authority in South Somercotes is looking for an enthusiastic individual to lead the engagement for their upcoming food waste collection service. You will promote participation in this new initiative as well as the existing recycling services. Strong communication skills, confidence in speaking with various audiences, and flexibility in working hours are essential. No prior waste experience needed, as full training will be provided. East Lindsey District Council is launching its food waste collection service in 2026 and we’re building an engagement team to make it happen.
You will be the face of this change; working with residents to build understanding and encourage participation in the new food waste collection service as well as the already well-established refuse and recycling services.
You will promote the council food waste collection service and wider waste service which will include updating council web pages and delivering presentations.
No waste experience? No problem! If you have transferable skills and a passion for making a difference, we’ll provide full training.

Boston Borough Council, East Lindsey District Council and South Holland District Council have formed the South & East Lincolnshire Councils Partnership. The largest Council Partnership in the country. Since October 2021, the Partnership Councils have been working closely to deliver improved services to the communities in the sub-region and already there have been many positive outcomes.
Over time, it is envisaged that services will become formally shared across the three Councils creating the opportunity for colleagues to be involved in new and innovative areas of work.
