Location – Altirincham Campus

We’re evolving our HR function into the newly established People and Culture Department. To support this transformation, we are looking for a passionate and dedicated People and Culture Assistant to join our team.

We’re looking for a proactive, people-loving People & Culture Assistant to join our dynamic team. If you enjoy helping others, making processes smooth, and delivering exceptional service, you’ll fit right in.

Key Responsibilities

As the first point of contact for all things People & Culture, you’ll play a vital role in creating an amazing colleague experience from the moment someone joins us, through their journey at the Group.

No two days will be the same, but you can expect to:

  • Be the warm, welcoming voice, answering colleague queries
  • Provide helpful advice on People policies and systems
  • Support onboarding, pre-employment checks, contract preparation & ID cards
  • Produce letters, references and external correspondence
  • Help managers with first-line Employee Relations queries
  • Create engaging support tools like guides, videos, and webinars
  • Keep our People systems up-to-date and accurate
  • Help bring People-led events to life
  • Contribute ideas to help us improve, innovate and deliver even better services
  • Protect the confidentiality and wellbeing of our staff, promoting safeguarding at all times
What we are looking for

Someone who brings:

  • A positive approach and a genuine passion for helping people
  • Great communication skills — friendly, clear, confident
  • Strong organisation and attention to detail (you love a tidy inbox!)
  • A ‘can-do’ attitude and the ability to stay calm under pressure
  • Good IT skills across Microsoft Office
  • A willingness to learn and develop — including working towards CIPD Level 3 if you don’t already have it
  • Values that match ours — Ambitious. Resilient, Collaborative. Inclusive. Respectful.

Experience in HR or education is a bonus, but not essential — we’ll help you grow and develop.

You’ll be part of a warm, supportive team where your ideas matter and your contribution makes a real difference. Here, you’ll develop your People expertise, build confidence, and gain hands-on experience in a busy, friendly environment.

This is more than an admin role — it’s a chance to shape the employee experience for hundreds of colleagues.
