Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 plus years of experience in supervising or leading a large team of disability support workers.
  • Qualifications in nursing desirable and/or clinical complex care experiences necessary.
  • Experience across a range of disabilities, including challenging behaviors, Mental Health, and Cerebral Palsy, Brain injury, Peg feeding, Manual handling.
  • A Certificate III in Disability (or similar/higher qualification).
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with both participants and team members.
  • Empathy for the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities and a commitment to Person-Centered Practices.
  • Organizational skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • An Australian Driver’s License and access to your own car is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support team members, escalating any concerns to the Area Manager.
  • Ensure the environment is one in which team members can perform their duties effectively and efficiently.
  • Have strong clinical knowledge to support complex disability.
  • Monitor on-site roster changes such as staff swaps liaising with Rostering team to resolve any urgent changes.
  • Assist Area Managers to build team rosters 4 - 6 weeks in advance.
  • Ensure that the Client care plans meet the needs of the client and are being followed by all support workers.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders of the participant.
  • Ensure houses operate in compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and company policy and procedures.
  • Ensure high quality record keeping and completeness of internal documents at the House.
  • Complete Mandatory reporting.
  • In home care assisting and enabling participants with daily tasks including meal preparation, personal care and administering medication.

Lead a team of Support workers to deliver a high quality of care to client with Tracheostomy, Peg feeding & Mental Health challenges.

We are looking for experienced Disability Support Team Leaders who have experience supporting people with complex clinical (high needs), mental health conditions, physical disabilities and challenging behaviors. This role reports to an Area Manager who supports and trains you.

In this role you will be expected to do 1 day per week administration and the remainder will be focused on direct care of our participants and supervision of the Disability Support Workers.

In this role you will support the Area Manager to ensure we deliver high quality of care and enable participants to achieve their goals by:

  • Ensure high quality record keeping and completeness of internal documents at the House.
  • Complete Mandatory reporting.
  • In home care assisting and enabling participants with daily tasks inc. meal preparation, personal care and administering medication.
About you
