Qualifications

At Triumph, we believe that our employees are the heartbeat of our business. We are seeking a passionate and innovative Casual Clothing Designer to join our dynamic team based in Hinckley. As a key player in our design department, you will have the opportunity to create exceptional clothing that embodies the spirit of our award-winning motorcycles. In this role, the Clothing Designer will be responsible for creating and developing Triumph Motorcycles’ global heritage and merchandise apparel collections. This role combines creativity, technical expertise, and brand understanding to deliver premium lifestyle products that reflect Triumph’s iconic heritage and appeal to a global audience.

Please note: this is not a freelance role. This is a permanent position based onsite in Leicestershire.

Casual Clothing Designer Benefits
  • Hybrid Working - Generally 1-day working from home, 4 days in the office.
  • Additional Annual Leave - Discretionary additional 1 day of holiday to for completing continuous employment of 3, 6 and 9 years’ service with the Company.

Responsibilities
  • Responsibilities will include: design development for heritage and merchandise apparel collections aligned with Triumph’s brand identity; including casual jersey, woven and outerwear. Develop seasonal concepts, mood boards, and colour palettes based on trend analysis and market research. Work with Graphic Designer to produce commercially desirable t-shirt graphics.
  • Technical Execution: Produce detailed technical drawings and specifications using CAD software (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop). Ensure designs meet quality, fit, and functionality standards, considering garment construction and fabric behaviour.
  • Trend & Market Research: Monitor global fashion trends, consumer preferences, and competitor activity to inform design direction. Incorporate sustainable materials and practices where possible. Benchmark against competitor products to ensure designs remain competitive in quality and value.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams (Product Development, Marketing, and Procurement) and external suppliers to ensure timely delivery of collections. Attend international apparel and fabric shows as required.
  • Brand Representation: Maintain Triumph’s heritage aesthetic while introducing modern design elements to appeal to diverse markets.
Casual Clothing Designer Skills and Qualifications
  • Degree or diploma in Fashion Design, Textile Design, or related field.
  • GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade C or above).
  • Strong apparel design expertise, including strong understanding of garment construction
  • Proven experience in developing commercially desirable t‑shirt graphics
  • Proficiency in CAD and design software (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop).
  • Solid understanding of textiles, trims, and sustainable fabrics.

Hours of Work

Hours of Work: Flexible working – contract hours are 8.00am – 5.00pm Monday to Thursday and 8.00am – 1.00pm on a Friday.
