A UK government-owned economic development bank in Sheffield is seeking an Investment Operations Lead. This role involves managing performance delivery for the Product Operations team and ensuring service levels within the Investment division. Candidates should have substantial experience leading cross-functional teams in financial services and knowledge of investment products. Annual salary range of £65,000 - £77,500
Full-time, 37.5 hours per week with flexible working hours
Location: Sheffield / Hybrid Working (expectation to attend an office 2 days per week)

As a member of the Chief Operating Office division, you will be responsible for the performance and delivery of the Product Operations team. You will bring experience, knowledge, and vision for evolving the team including its strategy, operating model, product and service offerings, and workforce.
You will manage the Operational team (approximately 17 FTE) focused on delivering service levels to the Bank’s Investment division, ensuring key processes are delivered and risks are managed. You will develop solutions while maintaining delivery, and you will evolve the team to meet the Bank’s ongoing needs. You will drive stakeholder relationships with internal colleagues and work with peers across COO to deliver on this, building core relationships with the Investment Business as the primary service provider to this team.
The portfolio focuses on direct and indirect equity, debt, fund of funds and lending products. Key processes include portfolio reporting, drawdowns and distributions, reconciliation, treasury management, NAV calculation and reconciliation, fee checking and portfolio reporting. You will drive the integration of new activities into the Product Operations team to centralise operational roles from within product teams and help define and implement changes to the target operating model for the Bank’s Corporate Services.
The Product Operations Team provides operational processing support as well as preparing key financial reconciliations for financial management and reporting. The function combines product and operational knowledge to support the delivery of key projects. You will focus on efficiency, standardisation and continuous improvement of core processes.
This capability has strong alignment with Investments, Finance, Risk, Data and Change & Innovation functions. The role will also support the management of critical operational and risk management within the Bank.
With broad experience in financial services, you will demonstrate substantial experience in leading cross-functional teams and working in multidisciplinary environments, operating and influencing effectively across the organisation and within complex contexts. Experience in leading and building high-performing operations teams is essential, as is experience of Investment, Fund, Venture Capital and/or Banking Products. Regulatory experience is preferred.
