Summary

Provide supervisory leadership, direction & development in a demanding automotive material handling environment, focusing on plant operational targets related to safety, delivery, cost, & quality.

What you’ll do

• Supervise a designated team of material operations staff, including team leaders & operators.
• Plan shift patterns and job assignments for staff in alignment with plant material operations.
• Ensure the team works in accordance with health & safety guidelines and policies.
• Deliver results in accordance with departmental KPIs related to safety, stock accuracy, delivery to line & availability.
• Manage absence and holiday reporting/planning.
• Manage performance management.

What you’ll bring

• Efficient and effective management of direct components from door to point of fit, including receiving, storage, picking and linefeed.
• Safe operation of material handling equipment, including forklift, tow tugs/trailers, lift stackers and powered pallet trucks.
• Appropriate maintenance and execution of SAP operating system, including Logistics Execution System (LES).
• Support new product introduction (NPI) activities, including vehicle launch preparation & material change management in the operational environment.
• Despatch of finished goods and materials to external parties.

Essential

• GCSE Maths & English (or equivalent).
• Proven experience in a team leadership or supervisory role.
• Experience in a material handling role within a manufacturing environment.
• Organised, flexible, attention to detail, team player, right first‑time pro‑active approach, good communicator.
• Proficient with MS Office applications – Excel, Word, PowerPoint & Outlook.
