A charitable hospice organization is seeking a part-time Clinical Nurse Specialist to join its Palliative Hub Team. This role involves providing 24/7 support through a triage system while primarily working from home. Candidates will assess and manage calls to help prevent unnecessary hospital admissions. The successful candidate must be willing to learn independent prescribing and commit to monthly visits to the hospice. Interview dates are January 15-16, 2026.
We have an exciting role to join our innovative and publicly acclaimed Palliative Hub Team as a Clinical Nurse Specialist. This is a part time role working 30 hours per week, the role will primarily be performed from home and we can be flexible with the contract base being either Cambridge or Wisbech. The role can be performed from home and is for someone who can work across a 7-day period, providing 24 hours a day advice and support as part of a rota. It is a requirement of the role to visit the hospice at least on a monthly basis.
A successful Clinical Nurse Specialist in this position will be expected to holistically assess, plan, implement and review therapeutic interventions of patients who contact the palliative Hub advice line by telephone, helping to avoid unnecessary hospital admissions. A key element of this service is to appropriately clinically manage telephone calls from out-of-hour services, on-call doctors (HUC), the East of England Ambulance service, and other community services for patients, their families, and carers. This is not a patient facing role.
Willingness to learn as a qualified non-medical/independent prescriber is essential, unless you already have the relevant qualification.
Interviews for this post will be held on 15th and 16th January 2026.
Please note that the salary quoted is based on full time hours and needs to be pro‑rated for part time posts. We regret that we are unable to negotiate salary above the maximum stated within the advert.
