In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of cutting-edge software solutions for critical defence and space applications.**HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM*** Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain high-quality software applications and systems.* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including systems engineers, hardware engineers, and other software developers, to define requirements and deliver integrated solutions.* Participate in the full software development life cycle, from concept and design to testing, deployment, and support.* Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code adhering to established coding standards and best practices.* Perform code reviews to ensure quality, maintainability, and adherence to design specifications.* Debug and troubleshoot software issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.* Contribute to the continuous improvement of software development processes and tools.* Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends relevant to defence and space software development.* Assist in the creation of technical documentation, including design specifications, user manuals, and test plans.**ABOUT YOU*** Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.* Proven experience in software development, preferably within a professional environment.* Strong experience with Java (17+),* Experience with software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum).* Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).* Understanding of software testing principles and experience with unit and integration testing.**HOW WE CAN SUPPORT YOU**Many of our staff work flexibly in many different ways, including part-time.
