A leading consulting and engineering firm in Northern Ireland is seeking a Senior Scientist/Engineer to manage contaminated land investigations. Candidates should have a degree in relevant fields and strong project management experience. Key attributes required for the position are sound technical knowledge, enthusiasm, self-motivation and excellent verbal and written communication skills. The role will require a mixture of site and office-based work, but this may vary with workload.
You will hold a degree in geology, engineering geology, hydrogeology or a relevant environmental science discipline. A postgraduate qualification such as a Master’s degree is beneficial. You should be working towards Chartership with a relevant body (e.g., CIWEM, IEMA, Geo Soc). You will have substantial post-graduate experience in contaminated land or geo-environmental engineering, including managing projects through the full lifecycle, and a strong understanding of current UK contaminated land guidance, legislation and development planning. You should be able to undertake self-directed research to stay abreast of new trends in the field.
