Job overview

The Rosie Hospital is a tertiary unit providing care throughout the East of England. Part of our service offers a 10 bedded, state of the art midwifery led birthing unit where women and birthing people are supported and cared for by our highly skilled and compassionate team of midwives and maternity support workers.

We are seeking a highly motivated and clinically skilful midwife to lead the Rosie Birth Centre. You will be expected to lead by example developing your team to thrive and shine within their roles so they are empowered to provide excellent evidence-based care to those opting to birth within an MLC pathway. You will be intrinsic to the both the daily running as well as moulding and shaping the future if the RBC.

As well as expanding the role of our RBC midwives to include home births we are exploring how we can improve and increase the usage of the RBC and are currently scoping our IOL pathways. We are planning to be able to offer the RBC as an “in guidance” option to those who labour following uncomplicated prostaglandin administration.

If you have a passion for supporting and advocating for women and birthing people while fostering a compassionate leadership style that nurtures and grows your workforce; have the ability to provide effective and comprehensive management to all aspects of leading a clinical area as well as being a conduit between the senior leadership team and the clinical staff then we would love to receive your application!

Main duties of the job

To provide clinical expertise supporting the RBC staff as well as promoting MLC within the wider maternity service

To partake in maternity bleep holder responsibilities

To undertake all aspects of staff support and line management

To report both internal and external to maternity on key metrics relevant to the RBC
