Job summary

An international engineering and construction company in the UK is seeking a Business Unit Quality Leader to provide leadership for quality activities across operations. The role demands a minimum of 15 years' experience in quality leadership, expertise in ISO 9001 standards, and the ability to manage teams effectively. You will shape the quality culture and drive continuous improvement initiatives while collaborating with various operations leaders. This position offers the chance to influence quality strategies on high-profile projects nationwide.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 15 years' experience in Quality leadership roles within regulated industries (e.g., Power, Nuclear, Rail, Healthcare).
  • Strong technical knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 & BS 99001 standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS) across CHt.
  • Represent Quality at leadership meetings and chair the monthly Operations & Quality forum.
  • Monitor and report quality performance using data‑led insights.

We are seeking an engaging and personable Business Unit Quality Leader to provide leadership and direction for quality activities across CHt operations. This senior role will manage assurance and compliance, set the quality culture, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. You will work closely with Operations Leaders, Construction Managers, and Supervisors to ensure robust quality arrangements and deliver value for clients and the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS) across CHt.
  • Manage third-party certifications and assurance assessments.
  • Represent Quality at leadership meetings and chair the monthly Operations & Quality forum.
  • Provide oversight from bid to completion, ensuring projects meet all relevant standards.
  • Drive a “Get it Right” culture and elevate quality risks where necessary.
  • Monitor and report quality performance using data‑led insights.
  • Deliver training and promote quality awareness across CHt operations.
What We're Looking For
  • Minimum 15 years' experience in Quality leadership roles within regulated industries (e.g., Power, Nuclear, Rail, Healthcare).
  • Strong MEP background
  • Strong technical knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 & BS 99001 standards.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships across stakeholders.
  • Experience managing teams and working with digital project systems (Fieldview, Asite, Trimble).
  • Preferred: ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification and Chartered CQI membership (or working towards).
