Main duties of the job
Main Duties and Development Opportunities

As part of the programme, you will:

  • Review patient treatments using our EPR system (Hive/Epic) to ensure safe, effective care for women, children, & neonates.
  • Ensure timely and appropriate supply of medication to support patient care.
  • Complete medicines reconciliation for newly admitted patients promptly and accurately.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary ward rounds (in-person and virtual), reviewing and optimising treatment plans.
  • Attend regular teaching sessions provided by pharmacy or clinical specialties to enhance your knowledge and skills.
  • Gain experience in complex treatments, including parenteral nutrition and chemotherapy, through structured training.
  • Contribute to guideline development, medicines optimisation, finance review, clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement projects.
  • Structured progression from Band 6 to Band 7 with a competency-based portfolio.
  • No requirement to provide on-call services
  • Dedicated mentorship and support.
  • Opportunities to develop specialist knowledge in neonatal and paediatric and women's pharmacy.
