We are looking for an experienced and commercially astute Financial Controller to join a growing retail business based in Bolton. This is a key leadership role, offering the opportunity to take ownership of the finance function while partnering closely with senior stakeholders to support strategic decision‑making and continued growth.

As Financial Controller, you will lead and develop a high‑performing finance team, ensuring robust financial control, accurate reporting, and strong governance across the business. This role is ideal for a qualified accountant who combines technical excellence with proven people management skills and a hands‑on approach in a fast‑paced retail environment.

In this pivotal position, you’ll oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow management, while driving process improvements and supporting commercial initiatives. If you thrive in a leadership role and enjoy influencing the wider business, we’d love to speak with you.

• Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA).
• Proven experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance role, ideally within retail or a consumer‑facing environment.
• Strong people management skills, with experience leading, mentoring, and developing finance teams.
• Excellent technical accounting knowledge and experience with month‑end, year‑end, and statutory reporting.
• Commercial mindset with the ability to partner with non‑finance stakeholders and influence decision‑making.
• Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Comfortable operating in a growing, change‑oriented business environment.
