📍 Location: Winsford, Cheshire
📄 Contract: Permanent | Full-Time | 2 on / 4 off with regular sleep‑ins
Be part of a nurturing, child‑centred team making real impact in the lives of children and young people aged 7–17 with Emotional & Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
We’re a small and stable organisation with just four homes – focused on quality over growth, where every member of staff is valued, heard, and supported.
- Hourly Rate: £15.00
- Base Salary: £29,259 per year
- Sleep‑ins: 10 per month at £60 each (£7,200 per year)
- Attendance Bonus: £100/month (~£1,200 per year)
- Overtime Pay: 1.3x hourly rate (when available)
- On‑Target Earnings: ~£37,659/year (base + sleep‑ins + bonus)
- Shift Pattern: 2 on / 4 off with regular sleep‑ins
- Type: 3‑bed Children’s Residential Home
- Young People: Aged 7–17 | EBD
- Approach: Therapeutic, consistent, and relationship‑based care in a structured and nurturing environment
- ✅ Lead shifts and role model best practice in a small, experienced team
- ✅ Ensure safeguarding and welfare of children at all times
- ✅ Oversee care planning, key working, and behaviour support
- ✅ Coordinate routines, activities, and outings that build confidence and independence
- ✅ Keep high‑quality records aligned with legislation and Ofsted standards
- ✅ Mentor colleagues and support inductions/training
- ✅ Liaise with families, social workers, and multi‑agency partners
- ✅ Essential:
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent or working towards)
- Experience as a Residential Support Worker or Senior RSW
- 🛡 Strong safeguarding awareness, resilience, and a calm, child‑focused approach
⚠️ Note: Level 3 Health & Social Care is not an accepted equivalent for this role.
