A prestigious ballet institution is seeking an Associate Teacher to teach ballet to students aged 8 to 13 at their Cardiff Associate Centre. This role offers initial training in the School's Associate System and further professional development opportunities. Responsibilities include structuring lessons, producing yearly teaching plans, maintaining student records, and upholding safeguarding duties. The position is fixed term from September 2026 to June 2027, with a competitive hourly rate of £41.25.
The Associate Programme is an extensive national programme introducing the School’s System of Training to young, talented students studying at private ballet and vocational schools across the country. The programme is divided into four stages: Junior, Mid, Senior and Advanced Associates.
The post holder will teach ballet to Associate students aged between 8 and 13 (Junior and Mid-Associate programme) at the Cardiff Associate centre.
Initial training in the Royal Ballet School’s Associate System of training will be provided, and further professional training will be offered at least once each year.
An Associate teacher understands the interests of the individual students are paramount and supports and nurtures the student’s physical and mental wellbeing whilst providing a high standard of ballet training.
Salary: £41.25 per hour
Location: Cardiff Associate Centre
Duration: Fixed term contract: September 2026 - end of June 2027 (mandatory training will commence before the teaching period)
