Job Title: Occupational Health Physician / Pension Scheme Medical Adviser • Contract: Permanent - full-time or part-time hours available (minimum 2 days per week) • Location: Home based, fully remote • Salary: Depending on experience

As a Scheme Medical Adviser (SMA) at Medigold Health, you will assess ill-health retirement and injury benefit applications and deliver pensions medical advice to support our clients in the public and private sectors. You will be part of a dedicated team ensuring high standards of pensions medical advice while using internal systems to maintain medical records and deliver a scheme compliant service.

Full training will be provided. You will have one-to-one mentoring from senior Scheme Medical Advisers and access to internal CPD opportunities within Medigold Health. This role offers opportunity to develop skills in pension governance to support trustees and delegated authorities in a procedurally and legally compliant way.

• The delivery of the Pensions Medical Services to Medigold Health clients, ensuring pensions medical advice is of the highest standard.
• Promote best practice with a standardised, fair, objective, and regulatory-compliant pensions medical assessment approach.

• Provide medical advice as Scheme Medical Adviser on the applicability of pension scheme criteria in individual cases, including reviews of existing awards and injury benefit assessments.
• Utilise Medigold’s internal medical records database and diary system to ensure clinical procedures are fulfilled.
• Work from home; pensions work is system-based and remote with no direct contact with the pension scheme member.
• Liaise with Administrators/Team Leaders regarding client and pension scheme member queries, with support from Senior Scheme Medical Advisers as appropriate.

• AFOM as the minimum qualification; preferably MFOM or FFOM
• Current GMC registration
• At least 3 years of experience in occupational medicine
• Previous pensions experience desirable but not essential
• Excellent analytical and report writing skills with attention to detail
• Knowledge of Outlook and Word is essential; Excel and PowerPoint desirable
