We’re recruiting for aInitial Risk Underwriter to join us. We’re offering acompetitive base salary.

Join our Retail Protection team as an Initial Risk Underwriter and play a key role in helping customers secure the right cover for life’s uncertainties. You’ll be part of a collaborative environment where your expertise ensures fair and accurate underwriting decisions, supporting customers when they need us most.

• Reviewing customer applications and assessing risk factors to determine appropriate cover
• Deciding on policy terms within your authority level and escalating where necessary
• Requesting additional information from customers or medical professionals when required
• Delivering exceptional customer service by addressing queries efficiently and professionally
• Recording all work accurately to support effective communication and decision-making
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of legislation, regulation, and company policies
• Communicating clearly with internal teams, external customers, and third parties
• Supporting compliance with service commitments and customer expectations

• Understanding of risk factors for mortality and morbidity
• Basic knowledge of protection products such as Life, Critical Illness, and Income Protection
• Awareness of legislative and regulatory requirements (desirable)
• Ability to manage time effectively and prioritise workload
• Strong written and verbal communication skills across multiple channels
• Capability to assess applications holistically and make balanced decisions
• Familiarity with relevant systems and software (training provided if needed)
• Commitment to delivering excellent customer experience and meeting service standards
