Job description

Salary:£281.14 per visit Plus Mileage
Contract Type: Part time - Roving

Join Keys Group as a Regulation 44 Visitor and make a real impact.

We are looking for a passionate and experienced professional to take on the vital role of Regulation 44 Visitor, carrying out ad hoc monthly visits to our children’s homes across EastEngland. This role will provide additional capacity and support to our regional team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to bring your expertise in care, safeguarding, and regulatory compliance to an independent role that plays a crucial part in promoting the safety, development, and wellbeing of young people. As a Regulation 44 Visitor, you will offer objective oversight, constructive challenge, and assurance that our homes continue to deliver high-quality care in line with regulatory requirements.

What’s the role about?
You’ll be responsible for carrying out monthly independent visits and writing clear, insightful, Ofsted-ready reports that highlight how children and young people are being supported and progressing. You’ll also:

  • Review behaviour management strategies and ensure effective support is in place by scrutinising how the home is supporting children to enjoy and achieve.
  • Examine records of restraint and missing person incidents to ensure the home provides safe and stable care.
  • Carry out private interviews with children and young people living at the home and their parents, relatives or carers. Staff employed at the home must also be interviewed privately.
  • Produce a written report on the conduct of the home after the visit and made available to HMCI, the registered manager, and anyone else with responsibility for the management of the home.

This role is key in supporting the ongoing performance and development of our homes, so prior experience working directly with Ofsted is a big advantage.

What we’re looking for:>

  • QCF/NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management (or equivalent)
  • At least 18 month’s experience managing a Residential Children’s Home
  • Strong report writing and communication skills
  • A full driving licence and access to a car
  • In-depth understanding of Ofsted regulations and expectations
