This is a hands-on role requiring a mix of practical ability, customer service, and teamwork. You’ll be responsible for a wide range of tasks that help maintain our properties to a high standard.**Role Responsibilities*** Supporting will be supporting with brick work repairs and concreating.* Gutter clearance* Use ladders to support fixing roof’s that are two story properties.* Supporting the Roofers in day to day tasks such as flat roofs, pitched roofs and lead work.* Work collaboratively within the Repairs and Maintenance team, where strong teamwork and reliability are essential* Deliver excellent customer service across all tasks, maintaining a professional and customer-focused attitude* Communicate effectively with colleagues and residents, using clear verbal communication and good interpersonal skills* Make decisions and solve problems independently when needed, demonstrating confidence and initiative* Maintain high standards of safety, quality and cost control, with a methodical and dependable approach to work**Role Criteria;*** Experience in the above responsibilities* Proven experience in general property repairs, refurbishment or maintenance* Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and safe working practices* Excellent customer service skills, especially when working in tenanted properties* Ability to work independently and as part of a team across varied environments* Good organisational skills with a focus on quality and cost control* Comfortable working in both residential and communal areas under contract guidelines* A proactive approach to problem-solving and delivering practical solutions* Full UK driving licence**Benefits we can offer you*** 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays* Annual Mears Fun Day - Our annual Fun Day is organised as a massive thank you from the Executive team for all the hard work!* Volunteering Leave - Mears supports employees to undertake paid volunteering in the community, in support of our social value commitment.* Staff perks with Mears Rewards - discounts of up to 10% weekly groceries, holidays, eye test vouchers, Share save scheme, plus much more* Family friendly policies* Access to EAP Counselling sessions**All our roles require candidates to have the entitlement to work within the UK, Mears does not currently offer visa sponsorship.****As part of the recruitment process for this role, we will carry out a Background, Identity, Security clearance & BPSS check.
