Position Summary

To advance Teach For All's 25-year vision, we are seeking a Development & External Engagement Lead, Europe. Reporting to the Head of Region and working closely with the Director of Development and External Relations based in London, as well as with Teach For All's Global Development Team, the Lead will help build a sustainable funding pipeline, deepen external engagement, and amplify Teach For All's visibility and reach in the European philanthropic ecosystem. This role combines both strategic and operational responsibilities. The successful candidate will be excited to help nurture and expand a community of philanthropists, family foundations, and corporate donors who share our mission to address educational inequities in Europe and globally. The ideal candidate will bring familiarity with philanthropic trends and practices across European markets, strong external communication skills, excellent operational, administrative and coordination skills, as well as judgment and relationship management skills and a proven ability to partner with internal and external stakeholders.

About the Team

This role sits within the Europe Regional Team, an engaged, collaborative group of eight professionals committed to supporting and strengthening Teach For All's network partner organizations in the region. The team values shared learning, curiosity, equity, and long-term impact. As a key member of the regional team, the successful candidate will play a critical role in elevating the profile of Teach For All in Europe. In addition to working closely with the Head of Region and the Director of Development and External Relations, this role will collaborate with colleagues from the Global Development Team, Government and Multilaterals Team, Coaching and Consulting and the Initiatives Team, as well as Public Affairs and senior leaders of our network partner organizations.

Key Responsibilities
Identifying and Cultivating Potential Donors to Teach For All and network partners (50%)
  • Collaborate closely with the Head of Region, the Director for Development in Europe and the Global Development Team to formulate and execute a robust strategy for building and nurturing a pipeline of Europe-based donors and new prospects.
  • In collaboration with the Global Development Team, strategically leverage regional gatherings, events and local connections, as well as close collaboration with network partners CEOs and Heads of Development, to identify new prospects for the region.
  • In close collaboration with the Global Development team, establish initial contact and start initial cultivation of new prospects across Continental Europe.
  • Support the Head of Region in implementing the overall regional development strategy, prioritizing and sequencing external engagements with a focus on high-impact fundraising and positioning opportunities.
  • In collaboration with the Global Development team, draft and tailor concept notes, region-specific proposals and presentations which can be used in conversations with prospects in Europe; this will require a deep understanding of global and regional programmatic priorities.
  • Develop and implement a strategy aimed at leveraging internal and external events in the region to position the organization and the work of network partners, ensuring Teach For All is an influential voice among key regional stakeholders, prospective donors and policy makers.
  • Take the lead in setting agendas and managing upward communication with the Head of Region and other internal teams to ensure clarity on desired outcomes, aligning efforts with regional and global goals and objectives.
Regional Fundraising Systems and Operations (25%)
  • Ensure strong systems and data practices to support fundraising efforts in the region, with effective use of Salesforce and other tools for tracking progress, reporting, and strategic planning.
  • Collaborate with the Global Development Team and the Europe Chief of Staff as well as portfolio lead staff to improve workflows, increase communication and efficiency, and ensure accountability across the regional giving pipeline.
  • Support the Director of Development and External Relations for Europe in the management of our UK and Europe entities' Boards. This will include support in calendaring, and logistical support when meetings take place in‑person (usually only once a year).
  • Work with the Finance team to ensure that our UK and Europe entities meet all necessary compliance requirements especially as relates to documentation from Trustees / Board members, submitting minutes or other paperwork related to Board meetings, tracking changes in Board membership.
Network Partner and Prospective Partners Support (25%)
  • Work closely with Teach For All network partners in Europe to understand their unique funding contexts, identify opportunities for tailored strategic support, and identify potential joint funding opportunities.
  • Collaborating closely with the CLC, Learning Experiences teams and Global Multilateral team and the Initiatives team, ensure network partners receive the comprehensive training, resources, and best practices required to elevate their fundraising capabilities.
  • Contribute to the cross‑functional organizing committee for the Europe Development Community, providing Europe‑specific insights related to donor prospects and philanthropic trends.
  • Support the Global Development and CLC teams to respond to requests for feedback on proposals, applications, pitches, and meeting preparation documents from partners.
  • Foster strong communication and collaboration between Teach For All and network partners around fundraising in the region, enhancing our collective efforts.
  • Support network partners to identify and proactively engage prospective donors, particularly foundations, corporations, and high‑net‑worth individuals, who share a profound alignment with Teach For All's mission in a specific country or across multiple countries in the region.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years or more of relevant professional experience. While fundraising experience is preferred, experience in related fields (e.g. communications, public affairs, strategic marketing, sales) is also highly valued.
  • Excellent people skills, with a demonstrated ability to cultivate and maintain strong relationships with senior level stakeholders, both in the corporate and private philanthropy world.
  • Results‑driven, detail‑oriented professional with strong organizational skills and a positive "can‑do" attitude who enjoys working in a collaborative, team‑based environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and ideally one other European language.
  • Excellent presentation skills, including graphic design/PPT and experience in crafting decks or pitch presentations.
  • Strong collaborative skills with the ability to work well across cultures and to influence others even in the absence of a direct reporting relationship.
Additional desirable skills/experiences (not required)
  • Ability to identify opportunities for Teach For All to become a prominent voice among major donors, champions, connectors, and policymakers; experience with/knowledge of the media or policy landscape in Europe would be an asset.
  • Ability to manage, update and leverage Salesforce as a development platform.
  • Ability to collaborate on offerings such as training, resources, and best practices to enhance network partners' fundraising capacity.
  • Proficiency in crafting compelling proposals and support requests in collaboration with Teach For All's Global Development and Communications team.
  • Some travel within Europe will be required.
What Teach For All Offers
  • Commitment to cultivating a culture in which all staff members feel they belong, are valued for their contributions, and have an impact on our organization's progress.
  • Professional and personal development experiences and ample opportunities to make a positive impact on the work of Teach For All and beyond.
  • Comprehensive benefits package designed for your well‑being and work‑life needs.
  • Generous time off and flexible work arrangements.
  • And much more!
