Job description

Indra is one of the leading global technology and consulting companies and the technological partner for core business operations of its customers worldwide. It is a world-leader in providing proprietary solutions in specific segments in Transport and Defence markets, and the leading firm in Digital Transformation Consultancy and Information Technologies in Spain and Latin America through its affiliate Minsait. Its business model is based on a comprehensive range of proprietary products, with a high-value focus and with a high innovation component. In the 2024 financial year, Indra achieved revenue of € 4.84 million, 60,000+ employees, a local presence in 46 countries and business operations in over 140 countries.

Indra is a global player in the international market in Air Traffic Management (ATM) systems. It has over 100 years of experience in ATM solutions, with over 4000 installations in over 160 countries. 85% of air passengers in the world travel using Indra technology at some point during the flight.

In 2024, the company launched its “Leading the Future” Strategic plan by which we aim to reach the number 1 position globally in ATM and achieve €10 billion in revenue by 2030. Following recent acquisitions, the UK is a key growth area for the company, so this is an exciting time to join us.

As the technological partner for its customers’ key operations, Indra is at the core of their business, and Indra’s four values guide everything we do:

Leadership - Generating real impact through tangible results

Flexibility - Enhancing proximity to the customer and differentiating Indra from its competitors

Focus - Projecting progress in a clear direction, which is crucial in the specialisation of business

Reliability - Building trust and long-term relationships based on experience and excellence

As we continue to grow, we need an experienced engineer to join our onsite support team based at the NATS Prestwick Centre.

This team covers the implementation and maintenance of the Infrastructure as a Service platform, and deployment of our ATM products into Indra and customer environments. This customer-facing team works daily with networking, virtualization, operating system and software deployment, scripting and automation. In addition, the team provides system integration support for development activities, such as operational validations with operational end users.

Amongst the responsibilities that the candidate is expected to assume are the following:

  • Provide third level (expert) support to operational ATM systems, including the analysis of incidents and observations, in order to provide solutions to the customer.
  • Consult expert colleagues in offshore development teams to assist with the diagnosis and resolution of issues.
  • Provide support for the deployment and maintenance of operational training and test environments.
  • Participate in meetings with the customer to update them on the progress of investigations and observations.
  • Provide integration support to onsite customer environments including acting as an engineering focal point during system development activities with operational end users.
  • Deployment and integration of hardware and software systems within customer and internal air traffic management environments.
  • Produce formal technical documentation such as operational procedures, high level designs, network designs, etc.
  • Maintain excellent working relationships with customer stakeholders to ensure their needs are met and identify new opportunities.

We are looking for proactive engineers with an appetite for work and learning and a desire to contribute: employees who want to attain excellence in their own work and achieve their goals.

You will be a key member of the technical team based at the NATS Prestwick Centre, Scotland, working on some of the largest and most exciting ATM systems projects in the world. The role offers an exciting opportunity to support the introduction and maintenance of operational systems, which play a key role in UK critical infrastructure.
