You will be learning on the job as a valuable member of the team, responsible for assisting in engineering disciplines while learning from our site team and will have the opportunity to manage and build client relationships.

You Will Develop Skills In
  • Railway‑specific site procedures and safety standards (PTS, OLEC1).
  • Surveying and setting out using rail technologies.
  • Understanding and applying Network Rail standards and Story quality processes.
  • Commercial awareness and programme‑driven delivery.
  • Enhance communication, teamwork and organisation while operating in a professional environment spanning office and site work.
Entry Requirements
  • The ideal candidate will meet the university course eligibility requirements as stated below.
  • Full UK driving licence will be advantageous.
  • Experience in Construction or the Civils environment is not required as you will learn all of this with Story Scotland.
Course Eligibility

Applicants Must:

  • Be over 18.
  • Not be in full‑time education.
  • Have the right to abode in the UK.
  • Meet the following course entry requirements:
  • GCSE (or equivalent) mathematics and English at grade C or grade 4, or above. And 112 UCAS points including at least 64 points from two A levels or equivalent BTEC. National qualifications to include mathematics or a mathematics‑based subject to at least AS level. For example:

  • Or Merit overall from a T level qualification – this must include a B in Core and can be from any engineering specific T level.
Benefits
