We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer with strong front end skills in React and Typescript, to join our Engineering team in our Consumer Services function

As a Senior Software Engineer in the Design System team, you will drive the technical vision, architecture, and implementation of a scalable, accessible, and robust design system that empowers product teams to build high-quality user experiences.

Reporting into the Senior Engineering Manager, you will lead by example in engineering excellence, collaborate with designers and stakeholders, and ensure the system evolves to meet the needs of a diverse and growing digital ecosystem. Your role is pivotal in fostering a culture of reusability, performance, and design integrity across platforms.

This is a hybrid role aligned to our Nottingham office and the team come into the office twice a week.

• Proven ability to architect scalable, modular, and accessible design systems
• Familiarity with tools like Storybook, Figma, and design tokens
• Strong understanding of WCAG guidelines and inclusive design principles.
• Abillity to lead cross-functional teams and mentor developers
• Experience translating design language into reusable code components.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Playwright), and performance monitoring
