Job summary

A historic visitor center in Inverness is seeking a confident Visitor Host for a seasonal position from April to October. The role requires excellent people skills and a passion for Scottish history. Responsibilities include welcoming visitors, managing tour logistics, and ensuring a quality experience. Ideal candidates will have hospitality or guiding experience and should possess strong communication skills. This role offers the opportunity for more regular work in future seasons.

  • Manage visitor flow and ensure smooth operations throughout the day.

Saturdays & Sundays, 9.00am–6.00pm(with potential additional days available)

Pay:

£17.25 per hour

About the role:

Boleskine House is welcomingvisitorsfor our 2026 season and we are looking for an engaging, confidentVisitorHostto delivera high qualityvisitorexperience on the weekends.This is a seasonal position and wouldideallysuit someone who can commit to the role each year. Asvisitornumbers grow, there is potential for this to develop into a more regular (and potentially more full-time) role in future seasons.We are recuiting now for a weekend position but we will consider a wider role if we meet the right candidate.Visitorswill use a self-guided tour and the postholder will play a key role in welcoming guests, setting them up for their visit, and ensuring a high-quality experience throughout the day.

Key responsibilities
  • Welcomevisitorson arrival and provide a warm, professional first impression
  • Hand out and explain the self-guided tour materials, including timings, key points of interest, and house guidance
  • Liaise with members of the public throughout their visit, answering questions and supporting accessibility needs
  • Managevisitorflow and support smooth operations across the day
  • Hostbespoke curated experiences
  • Work closely with the widerweekday managementteam to maintainvisitorsafety, presentation standards, and a calm, welcoming atmosphere
