A public healthcare organization in Dundee is looking for a dedicated individual to join their team within the operating theatres. The role involves assisting Registered Nurses and Operating Department Practitioners in caring for patients undergoing surgical procedures. While healthcare experience is advantageous, it is not required as full training will be provided. Candidates must possess good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team. This position offers a commitment to full-time hours and may involve night rotations.

With effect from 01 April 2026, NHS Scotland is reducing its full time working week from 37 to 36 hours per week, there will be no change in full time pay.
An opportunity has arisen for an individual to join the multidisciplinary team within the operating theatres of NHS Tayside. The successful applicant may be required to vary their workplace within the area covered by NHS Tayside, as required.
You will play an important part in the patient’s journey, working within the operating theatres and assisting Registered Nurses (RNs) & Operating Department Practitioners (ODPs) in the care and treatment of patients undergoing surgical procedures. Health care experience would be advantageous, but not essential as full training will be provided. Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team are essential qualities for this post.
You will be expected to comply with the national Mandatory Induction Standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland (2009) and with the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers (2009) for this post.
