Dometic is a global market leader in the mobile living industry. We are hiring a Technical Service Engineer to join our field-based, Service Aftermarket Team for the Southern England region. The Technical Service Engineer, reporting to the UK Service Sales Manager, will contribute to sales success by ensuring customers and consumers receive the technical and installation service they require in a timely and efficient manner. This role involves hands-on field support for end users, dealers and OEMs, as well as product installation, training, and attendance at trade shows, providing technical support and engineering know-how in the recreational, commercial passenger vehicle and hospitality industries.

About The Position: The post-holder will be at the front line of the business, delivering the highest standards of technical service and customer satisfaction for the aftermarket Dometic product range.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high level technical support for the relevant Dometic product portfolio to Dealers, Service Partners and End Consumers
  • Caravan, motorhome and passenger vehicle appliance installation, testing, servicing, fault finding and repair
  • Installation and testing of mobile power solutions (solar) in the above vehicles
  • Be responsible for your own health and safety and aware of others health and safety at all times
  • Maintain records for Customer Service Assistants / Dealers / Service Partners
  • Identify processes and improvements that will drive efficiencies and business growth
  • Attend annual trade shows and assist the sales team with technical enquiries
  • Support customers via telephone, email, Teams
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support Dometic's overall goals
Skills & Requirements
  • 2-3+ years of equipment service and support (mechanical or electrical), repair and fault finding
  • Experience installation, service or repair of at least one of the following: Refrigeration (absorption, compressor, thermo-electric); Air conditioning (including heat pumps); Electronics (inverters, charging systems, rectifiers, generators, power management); Cooking appliances (LPG, electric, alcohol)
  • Experience dealing directly with customers/consumers
  • Formal qualification in refrigeration, electronics, automotive electrics or another appropriate discipline (level 3 NVQ or equivalent) would be beneficial
  • A full UK driving licence is required
