A leading supplier in heating solutions is seeking a Technical Heating Advisor for a 6-month temp-to-perm role in Swindon. The position involves providing technical support for heating products, diagnosing faults, and resolving customer complaints. A Technical Heating Advisor is required for a 6-month temp-to-perm position based in Swindon. This role involves providing technical support to engineers, installers and customers for heating and hot water products both in and out of warranty. The position includes diagnosing faults, handling warranty processes, resolving complaints and offering advice across a wide range of technical queries. The successful candidate will be organised, customer-focused and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, with a strong interest in emerging technologies.
Provide technical support over the phone to engineers and installers on site.
Diagnose faults on products covered by warranty while engineers are on site.
Raise jobs for warranty issues and coordinate with customer services for allocation.
Respond to customer or installer complaints with effective solutions.
Log all technical calls and communications accurately on the system.
Handle technical queries via email and provide written advice.
Offer face-to-face technical support on occasion to customers or installers visiting the office.
Prioritise calls during busy periods based on urgency (onsite, warranty, non-warranty).
Monitor and report on recurring fault trends, ensuring action is taken where necessary.
Provide technical advice to engineers, contractors, architects, consultants and the public.
Support colleagues with technical and design queries.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of new technologies and industry standards.
Knowledge of heating and hot water systems.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to handle customer complaints with diplomacy and professionalism.
Well-organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
Comfortable using databases and logging information accurately.
Keen interest in emerging technologies and ongoing professional development.
This is a 6-month temporary role with the opportunity to move into a permanent position. The role offers a competitive salary of £40,000, training across their product range as well as their systems, a supportive working environment and alternate early and late shifts which are still at good hours of working. This is an opportunity to build strong technical expertise while contributing to high-quality customer service delivery.
Salary : c£40k Base + OT, Pension, Bupa & more excellent benefits - 6 Months Temp to Perm.
Location : Swindon.
Hours : Alternate early and late shift pattern:
Early - Mon to Thurs 7.30am to 4.30pm, Fri 7.30am to 4pm
Late - Mon to Thurs 9am to 6pm, Fri 8.30am to 5pm
After 3 months leading to one in four Saturdays 8.30am to 1pm
