Qualifications

  • 6 months experience in a formal care/support role and working with individuals with learning disabilities/mental health issues.
  • Must be registered with NISCC or achieve registration within 6 months.
  • Previous experience in administrative duties.
  • Willing to work towards the completion of relevant qualification.

Responsibilities

  • Support tenants with mild to moderate learning disabilities in daily life.
  • Assist in the development of skills and day-to-day decision-making.

Overview

Railway Court is a supported living accommodation giving support and care for up to 23 tenants with mild to moderate learning disabilities. It is situated centrally within Omagh. Railway Court provides 24‑hour staff support services, 365 days a year supporting tenants to develop skills and get involved in day‑to‑day decision making.

Essential Criteria
  • QCF/NVQ 2 Health and Social Care or equivalent
  • And 6 months experience in a formal care/support role* and previous experience of working with individuals with learning disabilities/ mental health issues.
  • Must be currently registered with NISCC or if new to the sector must achieve registration within 6 months.
  • Previous experience in administrative duties.
  • Or 2 years' experience in a formal care /support role* and previous experience of working with individuals with Learning Disabilities/ Mental Health issues.
  • Must be currently registered with NISCC or if new to the sector must achieve registration within 6 months.
  • Previous experience in administrative duties.
  • Must be willing to work towards the completion of relevant qualification.
  • Formal Care / Support may include caring at home, where the carer is in receipt of Carers' Allowance. Formal Care / Support may also include voluntary work in a formal setting.

This is a regulated post and will be subject to a satisfactory Access NI check.
