Senior Care Assistant

Wilton Manor Care Home, Wilton Avenue, Southampton SO15 2HA

£12.75 - £13.34 Depending on experience

30 Hour Contract for Days

Responsibilities
  • Day‑to‑day responsibility for running a unit
  • Responsible for issuing medication, reviewing care plans and accurate record keeping
  • Leading and managing a team of Care Assistants, including responsibility for all shift handovers of the teams
  • Helping with training and supervision of new staff members so they feel welcomed and supported
  • Building relationships with residents, their families and external teams such as GPs and District Nurses
  • Assisting residents with a range of personal care duties
Key Skills / Qualifications
  • Complete or working towards an NVQ3 in care. We are happy to support completion if needed.
  • Motivated, positive, with great interpersonal skills and enjoy working in a close‑knit team. Clinical expertise is crucial for CQC responsibilities.
  • Previous experience of the role and knowledge of its rewards and challenges. Passion for making a real difference to people’s lives, giving them kindness, personalised support and dignity they need.
