Qualifications

  • Experience of working with children with special educational needs in a primary school setting.
  • GCSE or equivalent qualifications in Math’s and English.
  • Knowledge of ADHD, Dyslexia, Autism and training in SEN.

Responsibilities

  • Provide additional support for young people with special educational, social, emotional, and behavior difficulties.
  • Implement the targets on pupils’ Individual Education Plan (IEP).
  • Run specific programs and activities to assist pupils’ individual learning and social needs.

Skills

The Learning Support Assistant’s main role is to provide additional support for young people with special educational, social, emotional and behaviour difficulties. The SEN Learning Support Assistant will ensure that the young people can integrate as fully as possible in the activities generally undertaken by the other young people in the class and make progress.Duties will include running specific programmes and activities to assist the pupils’ individual learning and social needs.
