Job Description

Production Editor

Fixed Term Contracts, Full Time, 37.5 hours per week (6 months until 3 July 2026)

The Production Editor is responsible for project managing the delivery of accurate, high quality exams to schedule for print and onscreen. Managing the IB workflow process from kick‑off to standardisation completion in collaboration with all stakeholders. The focus of the role includes managing the production history in secure SharePoint platform IB Publish. The role requires a high level of detail and organisational skills to manage a team of stakeholders in the delivery of critical high‑quality, error‑free material to agreed milestones and deadlines. The role coordinates production teams including external specialists and suppliers and works collaboratively with internal staff across the organisation, particularly Subject Management, Curriculum Management, Examiner Recruitment & Training and Finance.

This opportunity can be offered on a Hybrid basis to those living a commutable distance from Cardiff Centre Office requiring one day per week onsite (ideally Mondays). We will consider differing working patterns on an individual basis, please outline your requirements in your application.

We offer a Flexible‑Working Schedule with our core hours being 10am‑12pm and 2pm‑3pm, meaning you can flex your hours between 7am and 7pm to suit your and personal needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Coordination and Communication; advising key internal stakeholders of achievable project deadlines. Accountable for the coordination of internal and external stakeholders to achieve key milestones and deadlines that determine the development of assessments. Managing reporting against the structured production plan, ensuring costs are accounted for against the budget.
  • Quality Control: responsible for meticulous proof checking of exam material to ensure high quality, error‑free exams in addition to maintenance of production and exception reporting.
  • Risk Management: determining any potential risks to communicate during weekly team Work In Progress meetings and implementing recommended solutions to minimise risk.
  • Problem solving and decision making: autonomous decision making of prioritisation in addition to identifying risks and challenges and using initiative to discuss with internal stakeholders to find solutions.
About You
  • Demonstrable experience working in an administrative role requiring the management and coordination of tasks to meet deadlines. Ideally this will have been gained in a publishing or content‑focused industry however this is not essential for success.
  • Ability to communicate and interact clearly among teams across global departments.
  • Excellent command of the English language.
  • Exceptional eye for detail with the ability to proofread to a high level of accuracy within a fast‑paced and demanding environment.
  • Comfortable making decisions affecting the delivery of assessment publication material.
  • Ability to work independently while under pressure and provide solutions to changing priorities and deadlines.
