Job summary

A leading telecommunications company in Scotland seeks Poling Operatives to build and maintain the Openreach Network. Responsibilities include installing and dressing poles, renewing drop-wires, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Ideal candidates will have experience in Pole Erection Units, possess a full UK license (preferably HGV Class 2), and hold NRSWA qualifications. The role demands a self-motivated attitude and the ability to remain calm under pressure while adhering to Health and Safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Experience with HIAB operations required.
  • Ability to stay calm in pressured situations is essential.
  • Full NRSWA Street-works qualifications including Cat Genny training needed.
  • Full UK license required, ideally HGV Class 2.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure works comply with Service Level Agreements.

Circet UK are hiring Poling Operatives in Scotland. You will be responsible for building and maintaining the Openreach Network, documenting, checking and maintaining all completed works.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation and removal of poles, including dressing new poles
  • Replacing/renewing existing drop-wires
  • Replacing/renewing overhead and UG joints in the Openreach fibre and copper network
  • Ensuring all works are completed in accordance with Service Level Agreements
  • Undertaking works in accordance with Health and Safety legislation, company and client Health and Safety standards
Knowledge; Experience and Skills
  • Pole Erection Unit and HIAB experience
  • Self‑motivated, achievement oriented and able to stay calm in pressured situations
  • Full UK working rights
  • Computer literate and the ability to use a tablet device
  • Hold full NRSWA Street‑works qualifications at operative level including Cat Genny training
  • Have a full UK license (each crew will require a HGV Class 2 license)
  • Any relevant PIA & Openreach accreditations (Desirable)
  • Understanding of site health and safety processes and procedures
