Description of Role
As People Operations Manager, you will play a key role within the Operational team to provide Crew with guidance and support to promote high standards and workplace satisfaction.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and manage employee lifecycle processes
- Promote a culture of good timekeeping and attendance
- Provide and support positive and effective communication amongst the team
- Support with recruitment and development of crew in line with the company’s values and goals
People Management
- The candidate will have a passion for people and for providing progression and a positive work environment
- Develop and manage the employee lifecycle
- Coach, advise, train and work alongside all crew and crew chiefs on site at various times throughout the day
- Act as the region’s ambassador for all people-related matters
- Liaise with the People Team for all People-related matters
- Report monthly on the individual crew progression
- Ensure Crew Chiefs are leading their teams to a high standard and are reporting back frequently in the form of bi-monthly Crew Chief meetings
- Be in regular communication with the crew regarding workloads and assist them in managing their time
Recruitment
- Lead talent acquisition activities boosting the region’s portfolio of skilled Crew
- Recruit a crew of a suitable standard and work ethic to reflect the ethos of Five Star Crew
- Ensure recruitment targets are met
Admin
- Conduct crew reviews and appraisals
- Manage the Disciplinary processes in accordance with existing operational procedures
- Assist the Resource Planner in staff allocation
- Assist the Operations team with crew communications
- Ensure all new recruits have been inducted as per the set procedure and have signed and completed all documentation
- Conduct driving inductions and assist in maintaining company vehicles and records
- Any ad-hoc duties that may arise
Out of hours
- Be available to the crew 24 hours a day on a 5-week rotation, including weekends
- Allocate any new work that comes in
- Resolve any issues or emergencies that may arise
Qualifications
- 2 years minimum Event Crewing experience in a senior role
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to motivate and develop teams
- Excellent organisation skills, problem-solving and decision-making abilities
