The Role

Oxfordshire Cricket is seeking a dedicated and skilled coach to support our Men’s representative programme for the 2026 preparation phase. The purpose of this role is to help Oxfordshire Cricket deliver a sustainable and high‑performing talent development system in line with our mission: 'to make cricket open for all'. This position is integral to inspiring players to thrive and remain in the game, sustaining a talent pipeline that feeds both recreational and professional cricket while driving long‑term performance success. Working collaboratively with the Men’s Head Coach and Performance Director, you will provide coaching expertise during the preparation phase between January and March 2026. Your focus will be on accelerating player development and ensuring the squad is prepared for the 2026 National Counties Cricket Association (NCCA) competitions.

Key Responsibilities
  • High-Quality Coaching: Contribute to the delivery of high quality training sessions and player support, aimed at maximising individual, and squad potential and performance.
  • Strategic Support: Assist in the development of “strengths‑based” game strategies and provide tactical guidance to individuals and team captains.
  • Talent Identification: Contribute to player recruitment, depth chart planning and the identification of players across League, University, and County Age Group cricket.
  • Player Transitions: Facilitate “high challenge/high support” environments to help players progress into the professional game.
  • Team Dynamics, Culture and Values: Act as a role model and foster an inclusive environment where all players feel they belong and can thrive.
What We Are Looking For

We are looking for an ECB Advanced Coach (Level 3) who is passionate about both sporting and personal development.

Essential Qualifications and Skills
  • ECB Advanced Coach / Level 3 qualification.
  • Valid ECB Enhanced DBS, Safeguarding Level 2, and First Aid certification.
  • Proven experience coaching adolescents (16+) and adults within a performance pathway.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to build relationships and rapport with diverse players and stakeholders.
  • A proactive, strategic mindset with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Position Details
  • Term: Fixed Term (18th January 2026 – 29th March 2026).
  • Pay: £20.50 per hour for coaching hours.
  • Location: Radley College, Oxfordshire.
  • Schedule: Sunday mornings between 09:00 and 11:00.
  • Travel: Must have the ability to travel independently within the county border.
