Key Responsibilities
- Personal Care – Assisting with washing, dressing, grooming, and maintaining personal hygiene.
- Mobility Support – Helping residents move safely, including transferring them from bed to wheelchair or assisting with walking.
- Meal Assistance and Feeding – Assisting with eating, hydration and ensuring proper nutrition.
- Household Tasks – Performing light housekeeping duties such as laundry, cleaning, and tidying.
- Companionship – Providing social interaction, emotional support, and a listening ear.
- Monitoring Health – Observing and reporting any changes in a resident’s physical or mental health to relevant colleagues and healthcare professionals.
- Assistance with Activities – Helping residents participate in activities they enjoy, such as hobbies, social events, and outings.
- Updating Care Plans – Ensuring that documentation is updated as the needs of residents change and passing on these changes to the management team.
- Following Care Plans – Adhering to specific care plans developed to meet individual needs.
- Communication – Effectively communicating with the resident, their family, medical professionals and other members of the home team.
Required Qualifications
- Must be fluent in verbal and written English.
- NVQ in health and social care is preferable.
