Job summary
A leading utility company in the East Midlands offers a work experience placement in quantity surveying for young individuals aged 14-18, running from 9th to 12th February 2026. This program allows participants to discover how large projects manage budgets and deliver value, providing valuable skills in communication, teamwork, and organization. Participants will be guided by experienced staff, contributing to their future job prospects and adding compelling experiences to their CVs.

Interested in how big projects stay on budget and on track? In this placement, you’ll explore the world of quantity surveying, where engineering meets finance. You’ll learn how we plan costs, manage budgets, and make sure projects deliver value for money. You may get involved in reviewing designs, attending meetings with contractors, and understanding how decisions affect both cost and construction. This is a fantastic opportunity to see how quantity surveyors keep projects running smoothly and discover a career that combines technical knowledge with problem-solving and commercial awareness.
