Music Instructor – Violin / Viola

Aberdeenshire Instrumental Music Service seeks an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to work 14 hours per week in Kemnay Academy and surrounding primary schools.

Key responsibilities include preparing for exams and extra‑curricular activities and delivering individual and group lessons, including digital delivery where possible. The successful candidate will work as part of a team of music instructors within Aberdeenshire schools.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience in individual and group teaching across a range of instrumental education settings.
  • Experience working with children’s instrumental music groups and ensembles (desirable).
  • Motivated and enthusiastic, with an interest in the welfare and musical development of children.
  • No GTCS registration required.
  • Minimum one reference from your current or most recent employer.
Legal & Compliance

This post is regulated work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. If you have spent a continuous period of 3 months in the last 5 years outside the UK, an Overseas Criminal Record Check must be obtained – the candidate is responsible for obtaining this check. A confirmed offer of employment is dependent on the outcome of both checks being satisfactory.
