Job description

Derbyshire Dales District Council are recruiting two new Move More Co‑ordinators to join our team and deliver our new Move More Derbyshire Dales Strategy which is currently in co‑production. The two roles are part‑time and will deliver a variety of physical activities across the Derbyshire Dales. This position will include weekend and evening delivery when required.

Contract Details
  • Contract 1: Starts immediately to 31 March 2027 (Temporary Contract – subject to funding).
  • Contract 2: Starts 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027 (Temporary Contract – subject to funding).
Role Overview

The Move More Co‑ordinators will deliver sports and activities to all ages and abilities, targeting different groups from the inactive, people with long‑term conditions or disabilities, women and girls, youth diversionary, events and festivals, and sports specific programmes such as Tennis and Pickleball.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, deliver and evaluate engaging activity sessions.
  • Take responsibility for daily operation of activities in the community.
  • Lead sessions independently while ensuring safety and inclusivity.
  • Work collaboratively with partners to promote participation.
  • Use bold and innovative thinking to develop new activities.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports as required.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Level 2 National Governing Body coaching certificate.
  • Knowledge and experience of creating and delivering engaging activity sessions.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and partnership working skills.
  • Self‑motivated, proactive leadership style and ability to engage people across all ages.
Location & Working Hours

Based in the Sports Development section of the Community Development department in the District Council Offices, Matlock, but the majority of the work will be out in the community.
