Job summary

A leading food manufacturing company in Lincoln is seeking a proactive Maintenance Engineer to ensure seamless operations. The role involves electrical and mechanical maintenance, emergency lighting tests, and supporting continuous improvement projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in food manufacturing and hold relevant qualifications, including NVQ Level 3 and electrical competence. Qualifications

  • Experience conducting electrical and mechanical maintenance.
  • Ability to connect to and program PLCs and inverters.

The role

As part of our exciting growth we are seeking a proactive Maintenance Engineer to help keep our operations running seamlessly. If you’re a natural problem solver with a passion for both planned and reactive maintenance, this is your chance to join a growing team and make a real impact!

What you will be doing?
  • Carry out planned and reactive electrical and mechanical maintenance across the plant.
  • Conduct emergency lighting tests and portable appliance testing in line with schedule.
  • Support and deliver continuous improvement projects to enhance factory productivity and reduce downtime.
  • Confidently connect to and program PLCs and inverters as part of fault diagnosis and repair.
  • Use your knowledge of safety systems to ensure compliance and conduct risk assessments for all tasks.
  • Source parts/materials and work closely with suppliers and the technical admin team.
  • Use CMMS systems (ideally Shire) to manage work orders and maintenance logs.
  • Mentor apprentices, helping embed classroom knowledge into real‑world application.
What we want from you?
  • Experience in food manufacturing
  • NVQ Level 3 or above in an Engineering subject relevant to FMCGs
  • Recognised qualification in electrical competence including 18th Edition
  • Strong understanding of both mechanical and electrical systems
  • Holds a HACCP Level 2 qualification (preferred)
  • Knowledge of TPM either through leading projects or working in a TPM environment (preferred)
