The Trust is looking for an experienced engineer to work as a member of a team of Clinical Technologists to undertake repair, quality assurance, calibration and maintenance of sophisticated medical equipment. The post holder will also have responsibility for the management of staff and resources. They will be expected to work across all three Radiotherapy sites on a rotating basis.

To be eligible to apply for the role, the applicant must hold professional registration as a Clinical Technologist (Radiation Engineering) with The Register of Clinical Technologists.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder must be skilled at fault finding complex electronic systems and possess good attention to detail. The candidate should have relevant experience working on radiation equipment and/or complex electronic equipment. Mechanical engineering experience would be an advantage. Education should be to Degree level or equivalent experience.

Applicants must have good communication skills and be able to work effectively both independently and within multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications
  • Registration as a Clinical Technologist (Radiation Engineering) with an accredited register
  • Educated to degree level in a relevant subject area (Electronic/Mechanical Engineering)
Knowledge and Expertise
  • In-depth knowledge of Linear Accelerators
  • Substantial knowledge and experience in electronic and/or mechanical engineering theory and practice
  • Full knowledge and experience in fault-finding techniques
  • Knowledge and experience in all aspects of I.T., including networks and operating systems
Experience
  • Sufficient relevant or translatable experience
