Overview

Prestwick Tennis and Fitness is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced coach to take on the role of Head Coach at our Indoor Tennis Centre. This individual will assume responsibility for delivering our well established coaching programme. The role will be a combination of an employed part time position, with the opportunity for the successful candidate to make significant additional earning from guaranteed on court coaching hours and individual tennis lessons from our membership base (circa 500 members).

Roles and Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of an established comprehensive tennis coaching programme at the Club incorporating all levels of age and ability.
• Inspire and manage the existing coaching team. Demonstrate professional coaching behaviours acting as a role model for the wider team.
• Focus specifically on developing and delivery of pathways for all players participating in the club’s junior tennis programme. (junior classes, schools’ outreach, match play, competitions)
• Organise Adult and Junior Team Competitions/Leagues – co-ordinate fixtures, book courts, enter team results
• Attend meetings Tennis Ayrshire, South of Scotland, Tennis Scotland on behalf of the Club.
• Deliver LTA initiatives at the club - LTA tournaments/campaigns.
• Responsibility for the professional development of all coaches within the team.
• Work with the Tennis Manager to ensure that all tennis activities at the club are promoted effectively with cognisance taken of their financial viability.
• Lead monthly coaching team meetings.
• Hold weekly tennis programme meeting with Tennis Manager to discuss programme design and class participant movements.
• Plan diary of events with Tennis Manager–holiday/invitational camps, competitions, programme etc
• Representation at Club Board Meetings as and when required.
• Organise parent meetings and communicate regularly raising any concerns/issues.
• Be regularly around the club speaking to members.

About the Club

Prestwick Tennis and Fitness is a "not-for-profit" company operating at the heart of the local community offering tennis activities for participants of all ages and abilities. It is a Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC).

The Prestwick Indoor Centre currently provides the following:

• 4 Acrylic Indoor Tennis Courts
• 7 Outdoor Tennis Courts: - 3 Porous Tarmacadam and 4 Artificial Grass (with floodlights)
• 4 Outdoor Pourous Tarmacadam Mini-Tennis Courts

In addition, the Club manages 6 Outdoor Pourous Tarmacadam Courts at a satellite venue at Ayr Fort courts which were recently only three years ago.

The Head Coach will be responsible for a team of eight

We are looking for a driven and experienced individual with a LTA Level 3 Coaching Qualification or above. This individual must demonstrate an ability to effectively manage a coaching team of up to 8 coaches with a range of experience and qualifications. Experience in coaching players across various age groups and skill levels. Motivated, reliable and driven to increase and improve the tennis programme offered by Prestwick Tennis and Fitness.
