Job summary

A local golf club in Verwood is seeking an enthusiastic Greenkeeper to join their Greenkeeping Team. This role involves maintaining and enhancing the golf course, ensuring it meets the highest standards. Key responsibilities include daily course presentation, preparation for competitions, and contributions to agronomic improvements. The ideal candidate should hold an NVQ Level 2 in Sports Turf or be working towards it, possess a full UK driving licence, and have a strong understanding of safe working practices. Qualifications

  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Previous greenkeeping experience is advantageous but not essential.
  • Willingness to work outdoors and undertake early starts is essential.

Responsibilities

  • Daily presentation of the golf course to standards expected by members and guests.
  • Preparation of the Valley Course for key club and county competitions.
  • Maintenance of the Woodland Course and practice facilities.

Skills

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Strong understanding of safe working practices
Good knowledge of modern turf grass machinery
A sound understanding of the game and the rules of golf

Education

NVQ Level 2 in Sports Turf (or working towards)

Tools

PA1, PA2, and PA6 spraying certificates
CS30/31 certificates
