Overview

Nisbets Limited are currently recruiting for a Site Logistics Manager (PM shift) to join our Logistics team and play a key role in driving operational excellence, colleague performance, and continuous improvement across our sites.

This role will be based on-site at our Digital Hub in Avonmouth. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the PM operation to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the site, delivering consistently high standards of safety, quality, productivity, and customer service. This is a highly collaborative role, working closely with Transport, Development, and Continuous Improvement teams to optimise processes, improve site performance, and support strategic decision‑making.

You will lead initiatives to embed continuous improvement, champion new technologies, manage site costs, and develop a high‑performing team. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive, adaptable, and commercially minded leader with strong warehousing and operational management experience.

Responsibilities
  • Team Management: Recruit, train and manage colleagues, Team Leaders and Supervisors. Set performance goals, conduct 6‑monthly performance reviews, and provide coaching and constructive feedback. Champion the Nisbets Continuous Improvement Programme across the management team, ensuring adherence to parameters and regular audits. Identify, implement, and embed new ways of working or technology solutions to improve site performance. Monitor and control operational costs while maintaining high quality standards. Lead and participate in CI projects, identifying opportunities for efficiency and productivity enhancements.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure full compliance with all regulatory requirements and safety standards. Implement and maintain robust health & safety protocols. Act promptly on any compliance issues. Maintain and continuously improve service and quality control standards.
  • Customer Experience: Collaborate cross‑functionally to meet customer expectations and resolve operational issues. Identify opportunities to elevate the customer experience.
  • Budget Management: Contribute to the development and management of the site budget. Understand cost drivers, including COS% and actual spend. Use forecasting models to set productivity expectations for the 13‑week forecast. Resource effectively across permanent staff, agency labour and overtime to balance flexibility with cost control.
Capabilities, Skills and Experience Required
  • Proven experience in warehousing, preferably within an FMCG environment.
  • Strong leadership and people management capability.
  • Experience providing operational briefings at all levels, from colleagues through to board.
  • Strong decision‑making and problem‑solving skills.
  • Knowledge of health & safety regulations.
  • Demonstrable experience in budget and financial management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
